UI/UX Developer / R&D Project Manager

Perseptive is a London-based digital healthcare SME developing high-impact AI-solutions utilising cutting edge 2D/3D computer-vision and digital sound processing for remote monitoring and management of age-related diseases. We are a small but growing team at the forefront of medical technology, with several projects in development phase.

We are looking for a UI/UX developer with R&D project management skills. You will work with our software developers, technical and clinical team creating user and clinician focused mobile apps and web platforms, as well as assisting in project management and R&D grant applications alongside project leads.

You will be working with a small cluster of talented individuals with huge breadth of experience in medicine/healthcare, bioscience, engineering, software development and project management. We are looking for a self-starter with initiative and motivation who will enjoy taking advantage of a truly multidisciplinary environment to develop new skills and abilities, helping us develop the business and push the boundaries in digital health and patient / clinician centred design.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and perform usability and concept tests with clinicians and users for direct feedback.
  • Synthesise study and test feedback/results and extract key findings and highlights.
  • Design intuitive and elegant UI & UX solutions and associated product documentation to support the product evolution and business requirements.
  • Work with project leads / clinical and development team / industry and university partners to develop R&D project plans, designing and implementing a schedule of project activities, key deliverables/milestones, and bidding for R&D grants.
  • Ensure projects are tracking correctly and proactively managing risks and changes.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least two years’ experience designing consumer-focused apps on mobile iOS, Android and web portal platforms
  • Has experience working end-to-end on products, seeing them through from ideation, wire framing, prototyping, testing to final designs
  • Has a strong portfolio of mobile and web-based projects which show your design skills and how you approach a problem
  • Has experience with Sketch, Figma, Adobe Suite, prototyping tools and writing HTML/CSS.
  • Has experience in R&D project management and ideally in grant application (e.g. UKRI /NIHR / HORIZON2020)
  • Is an independent self-starter with excellent communication / presentation skills
  • Has previous experience working in a start-up environment (particularly healthcare)
  • Excels in fast-paced agile environments with cross-functional teams
  • Has a keen eye for detail, and knows how to rapidly solve problems
  • Has strong numeric and data analytics ability
  • Is intellectually curious, to learn quickly and anticipate needs where possible
  • Can work on multiple interdisciplinary projects of different scales (you’ll work closely with clinicians, scientists, engineers, and other designers)
